Why do you love to travel?
My husband and I (10-month newlyweds) have been traveling together for years. Traveling for us is not just an exciting get-away. It’s what we live for. It’s what we are working every day to be able to do. We absolutely love visiting unfamiliar locations, experiencing unique cultures and meeting different people from around the world. There is nothing more invigorating than starting on a new journey to a place we’ve never been before.
What is your favorite destination?
Thus far we have traveled to 5 continents, over a dozen countries and numerous cities and islands. Of all places, my favorite has been Seychelles. Seychelles is such an amazingly beautiful place. Comprised of about 115 islands off the coast of East Africa sits a paradise on rarely visited islands. If you haven’t heard of Seychelles, it’s a must to research and witness in person.
How do you keep travel in your budget?
In order to make sure we reach our travel goals, we’re always saving. The main way we save is by using an app called Digit. It deducts small amounts of money from your bank account into a FDIC savings based on your spending algorithm. This has been one of the best savings options for us because we don’t even miss the money that is being put aside. When I receive the balance alerts I’m pleasantly surprised and well on the way to our next destination.
What is the one thing you never leave home without?
We never leave home without a camera. Capturing memories via photo and video are so important to me. I feel so alive and at peace when I travel. Outside of the mental pictures I take, I always want those memories to be captured to share with our friends, family, future children and followers of our blog.
The best part of traveling with your husband?
I have traveled alone, with friends, co-workers and with family. I enjoy each experience for different reasons but being able to travel with my best friend in life is such a blessing. We’ve hiked mountains, swam with sharks, repelled through waterfalls in the rainforest and there is no other person that I would rather do life with but him. Plus, it doesn’t hurt when you have someone to take a hundred pictures of you, only for you to like 2 and never complain about it. We have seen and experienced so much together, and we’re so excited for what lies ahead on our journey. This is Where Life Meets Living.
