As a California native we often miss the opportunities that lies in our own backyard. Living in La we often visit beaches like Venice, Santa Monica, Huntington and Malibu. How often do we drive up north? I know I didn’t before this little road trip. What better way to explore life but in small trip that inspire major moves and adjustments in life. Pismo is just 3 hours north of LA. Take the scenic route down Pch and enjoy the beautiful costal views its well worth it. Pismo is a very small town tucked into the coast here are a few trip tidbits for Pismo .

Must see/ Tidbit 1-Sand dunes

Pismo has miles of open sand dunes along the beach. Take full advantage of the stretch of dunes. Grab an Atv or buggie rental from  SUNBUGGIES  (link)

The prices of rentals are more cost effective when you call ahead of time. Ladies I HIGHLY recommend wearing a sports bra. I made the mistake of wearing a regular bra, and lets just say it was  bumpy ride for this D-Cup. Booking 2 hours in advance gives you plenty of time to figure things out and enjoy the experience and of course take a bad ass photo on your ATV.

Must see/ Tidbit 2– Lunch at the best calm chowder spot Ever! When I say ever I mean it. Head to Splash cafe (link) for an amazing savory clam chowder bread bowl.  They offer a few different toppings to add to the chowder, you cant go wrong with which ever  one you chose. i would make the drive back just to have more chowder.

Must see/ Tidbit 3– Pismo beach pier is a great place to take a walk in the summer sun while enjoying the quant boutiques, restaurants and beach view.

Weather you’re coming or going be sure to stop in to Surfside Donuts for a sweet treat. Prices are a little high for a donut, but its part of the Pismo beach community charm. I do however recommend the coffee ,and we all know all this traveler needs is a coffee and a camera.
